Yahoo TS02 in the last week
« on: November 30, 2011, 06:40:49 AM »

Over the last few days Yahoo have started to severely rate limit all of our network ranges with the TS02 message.

Normally we get this on various queues and we respond accordingly tweaking the rates and re-routing traffic etc, however we are seeing across the board in the last few days.

This includes dedicated IP addresses that are used for high volume transactional emails such as hotel bookings, and the addresses have impeccable sender reputation.

Is anyone else seeing this across there ranges? or is Yahoo in meltdown and can't cope with the volume.

Our traffic volumes have increased slightly but noting major maybe 10% and we have not been generating significant volumes of user complaints.

We are not having any issues with the other ISP's and have instances where one IP is capped at 30,000 per hour to hotmail and is struggling to send 300 per hour to Yahoo

This is typical of Yahoo. Try to contact them and hope they don't send you a copy/paste canned response. Best thing would be for them to further prioritize your IPs.

To our experience this is indeed "normal". Sometimes even very high reputation IP's get [TS02] after sending just 5 or 6 transactional mails !

Contacting Yahoo ?? Wouldn't recommend it , in the last 3 years I have never ever succeeded in getting any human response from them on this issue.
They always send their standaard copy-paste , read the FAQ manual.

yeah well used to getting the responses and the slow delivery.... it was just particularly bad the other week.

most of our ranges are getting back to normal now either being fended of by TS01 or hitting our configured rate limit.

Yahoo suck monumentally and obviously there systems have never been able to cope with the volume.
