« on: September 13, 2011, 10:11:38 AM »

I read the doc . i understd as I am using api to submit i should append *vmta to header and the respective vmta domain name would be appended and that would resolve my issue . I am correct

No, you are not correct.  The *vmta variable is not used as a header, it is used as a variable before the headers are even sent.  Please see the examples in the User's Guide for proper usage.

All i want is to the return path domain should be the vmta that is selected at run time from the vmta pool by pmta . Currently it is "Return-Path: <v2-th0201@cwbounce5.com>"  as we can see its cwbounce05 domain that i hardcoded in my servlet for pool campaign submission , this is failing in gmail and other ISPs .

PowerMTA does not support changing SMTP MAIL FROM domain names before delivery based on vmta selected.

If you have the requirement that the host name must match your SMTP MAIL FROM given the way you have created SPF records, then you/your submission application will need to select which virtualMTA you want for delivery (not use pools) based on the SMTP MAIL FROM address (or vice versa, create the SMTP MAIL FROM address based on the virtualMTA that you want to be used for delivery).

If you want/need to use pools, then you will need to create SPF records that include more than one IP for each of your SMTP MAIL FROM domains, which is what most if not all sites do when choosing to use vmta pools.
