It seems a recent IPv6 rollout broke the internet service for lots of Comcast customers:

Last week a number of Comcast subscribers had a serious hardware problem on their hands. Netgear modems in California suddenly stopped working. Specifically, owners of the Netgear CMD31T lost Internet service, and subscribers were given a lot of confusing information about why they were being left out in the cold.

In their response Comcast stated:

We recently identified that the retail NetGear CMD31T device ships with and runs an uncertified version of firmware that exacerbates a critical IPv6-related defect.

And it looks like Comcast is on track to get IPv6 deployed:

Comcast plans to have IPv6 deployed in half of its network by the second half of this year.

How is IPv6 work for everyone in the email sector so far?  Is anyone using it?  As a note, check-auth@verifier.port25.com supports IPv6.

Most of the residential xDSL providers here in Belgium have already fully deployed IPv6.
From an Email Service provider standpoint , there is not a lot going on ... as long as the big ISP's such as Hotmail, GMAIL, AOL , etcetera don't support IPv6 delivery to their systems, we won't see much happening in the email landscape.

mx1.comcast.net now has an AAAA record, which is exciting. Google also now have gmail-smtp-in-v4v6.l.google.com which has A and AAAA records.

check-auth@verifier.port25.com used IPv6 if your server has it enabled and it is working.
