Goodmail Ceasing Operations ??

Hello All,

Is anyone else aware of Goodmail ceasing operations as of Tuesday 2/8/11?

Is this permanent, if so does anyone know why?, how does it affcet PowerMTA and email tokens that some of us have implemented?

We ourselves only received notification late last evening, and we are trying to find as much as we can right now.  Per their notification, they are ceasing operations on Tuesday, 08Feb11.  They will continue to provide CertifiedEmail tokens until Tuesday 2/8/11 5pm PST at which time their Token Generators will be taken offline.  They also stated that they are "working with our ISP partners to accommodate a transition period for your IP addresses so as to decrease the effort required for warm up. In the meantime, please begin to transition your traffic off of CertifiedEmail."

In the interim, they suggest that you contact customercare@goodmailsystems.com with any and all questions.

I contacted my AM @ Goodmail , because we did not even receive a warning / message  ???

Goodmail Systems to shut down this month

E-mail services provider Goodmail Systems will cease operations on February 8, its chief executive told Direct Marketing News. The Mountain View, CA-based company employed 35 and was founded in 2003. Daniel Dreymann, cofounder and CEO of Goodmail, said the biggest reason for the shutdown was an aborted acquisition attempt by a firm he would only call a "Fortune 500 company."

For anyone concerned about what effect Goodmail closing will have on their delivery, you can check your AOL delivery here: http://postmaster.aol.com/cgi-bin/plugh/check_ip.pl, your Sender Score delivery here: https://www.senderscore.org/ and your Sender Base rating here: http://www.senderbase.org/senderbase_queries/detail_lookup.

Chances are that anyone good enough to become Goodmail certified will be good enough to get great delivery with or without any sort of certification.... hence why Goodmail are no more.

If anybody has any email delivery issues following the removal of Goodmail imprinting, ask the people on http://www.emailmarketersclub.com/ for help
