Any particular .fr domain? There is a setting for wanadoo and orange on this portal, check that for those two domains, that works good for me, the other domains can be different settings.

wanadoo.fr, orange.fr
sfr.fr, neuf.fr, online.fr, free.fr, aliceadsl.fr

Same here.. It seems like there are three main players.. sfr.fr, free.fr and orange.fr.
I was in dialogue with orange.fr regarding my issues, and it turns out that they were blacklisting a domain due to bad practice several months back that generated complaints. If the domain appeared in a mail it would be rejected with a "[3 letter string]_506" (e.g. ofr_506 for Orange.fr).

Try contacting abuse@orange.fr, they were willing to communicate in my case.

If you progress further please share your findings. =)

I'm suspecting that there is a french market wide blacklist vendor lurking somewhere.

Regards
Ulrik

BTW wanadoo and orange are the same guys and they early last year published the settings, and those are published on this portal too, if you don't see it, ask and I will send you those. Depending on what volume you have, you could choose the same settings for others. I will look for the link to the article they published.

Wanadoo and Orange are on the same MX , so it's important to queue them together in a combined queue.
Currently we set the following per IP :

max-smtp-out 3
max-msg-per-connection 10
max-msg-rate 250/m
max-connect-rate 25/m

Even with 15 per minute we get ""550 5.2.0 Mail rejete. Mail rejected. ofr_506 [506]""

What do you think about this ?

Of course, I sent this info to admin long time back and after that I saw the settings on the link on this portal, don't know which link it is here.

To verify if it's a domain blacklist issue, try to send the same mail but use a different from-domain, and try to replace all domains referred to in the msg body as well.

The settings are published here http://forum.port25.com/index.php?topic=88.msg102#msg102, feel free to customize but keep the smtp out and the msg per conn same.
The best scenario is to create one queue for both orange and wanadoo domains that way it will work better for you.

Beside the OFR_XXX part, you should also see some numbers into squared brackets [ ].
[506] means that the body content has a scoring so bad that it can't be accepted.  Could be URLs, or wordings, or anything else content related.

"550 5.2.0 Mail rejete. Mail rejected. lpn_506 [506]" is the reply for a content issue on @laposte.net, for instance.
