After our disccussion on uptime,here we are to talk about the number of emails sent.
I am adding my personal record here.
1 billion emails !

The stats aren't maintained over a restart, so it may be that while there are others with this volume, the status page doesn't show it.

Well i am sure there are many achieved this number.
But achieving 1 billion without restarting was a record,ha ?
Seems so as noone was able to show up with anything.

I've seen more than a billion when working with some customers, but it is rare.  If you delivered 1 million an hour 24x7 it would take about 40 days to hit 1 billion.  Many larger sites have a patch/update schedule that is shorter than that window.  So if you patch an OS and reboot, you lose the stats for that time period.

Well the volume was 50 million a day.

How do you keep your outgoing traffic so consistent? It seems with a top output of 31,263 per minute that you would send 45M in a day if you are consistently performing at your peak performance.

This is a big network of sites with millions of users.
Day or night it doesnt matter for them.There is always a flow of email..

This is a good post, we generally patch our PMTA servers every quarter.

One server I have  has sent 265 million emails in 91 days, nothing really huge but a good chunk.

Well,keeping a server up-to-date is always advised but as long as you take precautions,you should be fine.
