Hi,

We are warming up our IPs.
All the extra traffic is being routed to exchange server which is our old infrastructure.
Exchange servers are part of AD.
We have added PMTA Machine in same AD as trusted machines.
Exchange server connectors has given permission to PMTA machine to send mails.
Through this PMTA should be able to connect to Exchange without any user id and password.

This feature is not working. Is it mandatory to provide user id and password for routing?

Thanks

I'm not sure that will work, but can you turn on log-commands for the <domain>, try again, and then post the logged data?

Hello Everyone,

we are trying to forward message from PMTA Server to other SMTP Server.
we have to use user name in below format(auth-username domain\rashmi), as our external SMTP server gives access to one of our service account.
so while forwarding mail we are getting error "x-pmta;AUTH failed with "535 5.7.3 Authentication unsuccessful" ".

How to give username which includes domain? we have tried using double quote, double slash, but no lock.

         <domain *>
      smtp-hosts [a.b.c.d]:25     #routing
      auth-username domain\rashmi
      auth-password parida
   </domain>

Thanks

What do you mean by:
Quote
we are following proper warm-up schdule

In general if a mail is dropping into a junk or spambox it is a content issue.

If we are warming up a IP we beginning with max 2 each day to ESP's. Then each week we add 2 more.
For Gmail and hotmail we have 100 mails each day and each week we double this number (so 100 -> 200 -> 400)
Yahoo starts with 100 and every week we add 100 to this number.

Also it is important to add a ' backoff-reroute-to-virtual-mta' to a warm IP.

Maybe information you already know but just in case  :)

Hello Everyone,

we are in warm up phase of 50IPs. we have set rDNS, SPF, DKIM and DMARC Correctly. we are following proper warm-up schdule, but still for major ESPs like
outlook, gmail, yahoo and aol messages are going to junk/spam.

Is there any guidelines to follow to make our messages reach to inbox instead fo junk/spam?
or we have to manually mark them not spam in our spam folder and move them to inbox?

thanks

As mentioned above - remove the old certificate so you have PMTA running.

It sounds like the cert may need to have a private key in it - possible that it currently only has a public key portion.

What you can do is create self-signed certs and use them to test it out temporarily.

You can create your own or you can use PowerMTA's built-in tool  with the pmtakeytool utility. Just run the command below to create one instantaneously (defaults to a 1024bit key). Run pmtakeytool --help for more information on what the tool does.

Linux
/usr/sbin/pmtakeytool newcert > /etc/pmta/yourcert.pem

Windows
C:\pmta\bin\pmtakeytool.exe newcert > \path\yourkey.pem

Replace the current faulty cert with this new one and test it out.

If it still doesn't work - write in to support@port25.com so we can take a look.

Remove the pem file in the CFG until you can figure out the issue. That will at least get PMTA running.

Not an option and doesnt seem logical.
You should handle this on your feeder side.
