Title: Yahoo Bounce code 4.4.2 (bad connection)
Post by: Willian on December 18, 2013, 08:54:56 AM
Hi all,
We recently are receiving bounce code 4.4.2 (bad connection) from Yahoo.
Before this week, I've barely seem this error, with just a few in a whole month. Now we have a few thousands/day.
Is it a denial of connection? A king of throttling maybe? Or even a block IP?
They are still sending a high volume.

Thanks!

At what stage of the SMTP transaction does the connection break?  Does it always get broken at the same place?

Well, that I don't know.
How can I log it? Or is it already logged?

Define "log-commands  yes" for the domain and virtualMTA.  For example;

<virtual-mta asdfsdfsdaf>
  ......
   <domain yahoo.com>
         log-commands  yes
   </domain>
</virtual-mta>

making sure that you save the config file then reload PowerMTA after making the change.  Then wait a few minutes then check your log file.

Just because I said it was a few thousands/day, after I started to collect the logs, the error disapeared.
I'll keep collecting logs 'till tomorrow to gather more information.

Thanks

I am seeing this same issue. How can I see at what point is being broken. The Log.txt file when opened is not easy to read
