Questions Before Purchasing
« on: September 23, 2011, 01:10:07 PM »

Hi Folks!

I presently use Zrinity's XM Server and am seriously considering switching to PowerMTA in a couple of months before our yearly support subscription is due.  If someone would kindly take the time and answer some questions for me, that would be great...

1.  Technically, how does PMTA handle feedback loops when the original recipient has been redacted?
2.  Does PMTA have the ability to log bounces in MS SQLServer?
3.  Has anyone had any issues installing PMTA on Centos?
4.  XM Server automatically scales down the amount of messages it's sending to an email provider when messages are deferred.  Does PMTA do the same?

Anything else you think would be helpful in my decision making would be appreciated.

1. PMTA doesnt have an incoming box/pop3/pop . You may choose to forward those emails to another email or get them written to a directory.Or host mx somewhere else.
2. This is quite easy.
3. I have installed pmta on Centos 4-5-6 32/64 bit versions, never seen bugs.
4. This is called backoff on pmta.So yes pmta has it.

P.S: I have never seen a better MTA on the world yet.I was able to send 250k emails per minute using a mid level box with pmta.Performance ha ? :)
