Anyone using List-Unsubscribe header?
« on: October 28, 2010, 02:42:57 PM »

Hi,

I was reading more and more about list-unsubscribe header and decided to give it a shoot. The issue is that it does not show in hotmail or any ISP provider.

I made sure it looked like this:

List-Unsubscribe: <http://address.com/unsubscribe>

Are you using it? Is there any additional things that i have to set?

Thanks!

It looks like gmail will only accept it when you also set a mailto field on list-unsubscribe.

But i still can't make it work on hotmail. Thanks in advanced for any help.

I havent seen any unsub header on hotmail.
They dont show it for mailers unless you are trusted/certified.

I didn't knew you had to be certified for it on hotmail.

I saw many posts showing images from unsubscribe links on hotmail and i didn't see the trusted icon. Example: http://blog.jangomail.com/2009/07/new-feature-list-unsubscribe-header.html

You don't have to be certified just trusted (great rep) or added to the users safe senders list address.  Hotmail supports the URL method and Gmail only supports the mailto feature of the header.

adding it in, whether its showing up on the user side or not, improves inbox delivery on HM/YH. I've tested the waters many times and can confirm this.  ;D
