Yes however, Return Path certification is only available on an individual client basis. As a commercial ESP you cannot get Return Path certified for all of your sending IP's? Correct?

This topic was more about reputation segmentation for ESP's. And whether Return Path's consulting services would be able to answer the questions originally asked in this thread?

Not entirely true. Return Path isn't just about getting to the inbox. It's about getting their FAST sometimes.

Please don't get me wrong, Return Path is a great company and everyone would get some benefit using their services, all I am saying is that they have strict requirements so if you are accepted for their Certification you are in pretty good shape anyways.

I absolutely agree 100%

@lukewd : Correct, you cannot certify an IP if it's shared. So you can only certify PER customer.

To add to that, note that return path is useless for Yahoo. Don't let their sales teams trick you - they do nothing to  help with deliverability into Yahoo.

There have been several incidents over the past year, acknowledged by senior ReturnPath management, where Yahoo! was not honoring the contractual promise of direct inbox placement of email traffic from Certified IPs in good standing. Large amounts of Certifed traffic were being bulked by Yahoo!. One of the reasons I was told was due to Yahoo! applying engagement metrics to the certified traffic. This totally defeats the purrpose for paying Return Path $185,000 a year to 'whitelist' our email.
