Applying for de-listing of IP's For Hotmail
« on: October 11, 2011, 11:25:08 AM »

Hello All,

Can you please provide different techniques you guys use while you apply for delisting of IP's for hotmail.

I have tried all the possible ways, but always getting negative reply.

Also it will be very helpfull if you share which all fields are important while filling the hotmail form for delisting.

Thanks
Daniel

I am assuming you have tried the support.msn.com and what response do you get from them, maybe you can share with us.

The messages from your IP's (x.x.x.x) are being filtered by Windows Live Hotmail as the majority of email sent by your IP space has been judged to be spam by our internal filtering systems. One possible explanation for this is the automatic forwarding of unfiltered inbound messages, including spam messages, to Windows Live Hotmail/MSN addresses.

Experiencing exactly the same problem here on one of our IP ranges... Completely blocked, and they will not allow us to deliver anything to even try to improve the reputation...

well i stopped emailing to them altogether because of the block. but it turns out i can send a small amount of email to them... now knowing this its obvious what the solution is.

send your highest quality of email starting in very small quantities to hotmail, and increasing it very slowly on a daily basis. in a week or so, contact the postmaster support again to request to remove the block.

by allowing you to send small amounts of email to them, they are giving you the opportunity to prove that you have corrected the problem...

Hello,

I have figured out something in hotmail.

After they did the updation in their filters, they have strictly-set per-day mailing on IP's i.e according to observation around 50K recipients.

If your mailing exceeds this limit, IP's getting bounced ( Unfortunately error ).

And you also get this error, if your list contains any soft-bounce email ids.

Anyone having the same observations.

Thanks

I haven't seen any major issues at hotmail, just the usual, yes they do rate limit but based on user feedback and IP reputation.

I'm still experiencing these issues.

Here is my latest error:
smtp;550 SC-001 (COL0-MC3-F9) Unfortunately, messages from 173.xxx.xxx.6 weren't sent. Please contact your Internet service provider since part of their network is on our block list. You can also refer your provider to http://mail.live.com/mail/troubleshooting.aspx#errors.

I cannot delivery even 1 email per day to hotmail. this makes it impossible to even attempt to improve reputation.

i cannot get a non scripted response from hotmail either. any suggestions at all?

This message indicates that your IP is completely blocked on Hotmail ! You will never ever succeed in gettng 1 message delivered.
You need to check into your SNDS and check the reason WHY your IP is blocked.

In the "ip Status" overview of SNDS you will see something like "User complaints" or "Bot like behaviour" ....

In any case it means you are having trouble with list hygiene, either to much bounces, or to much people that do not want to receive your mail and click "this is spam".

You need to first resolve those issues ! the block will be lifted after 48 to 72 hours, then you can start sending good mail to good people and build reputation
